SUSTAINABILITY
SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT
At Lost Dutchman Spirits, sustainability is not a trend. it’s a responsibility we take seriously as a small, independent gin distillery in Wales.
We are committed to producing exceptional, award-winning gin while minimising our environmental impact and supporting the communities around us. All our Botanicals used are 100% Organic, our bottles are made from 100% Recycled Glass, our stoppers made from natural wood and cork and our seal is Plant based which can be Home Composted.
A key part of our sustainability approach is our use of iStill distillation technology, which is designed to be more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible than traditional distilling equipment. iStill systems use advanced automation and precision controls to optimise energy consumption, reduce heat loss and maximise efficiency throughout the distillation process. Their integrated design allows for more consistent results with fewer re-runs, helping to lower overall energy and water usage.
Our distilling process is carefully managed to minimise waste, with continual improvements made to water usage, energy efficiency and batch production. We actively monitor and refine our methods to ensure resources are used responsibly at every stage.
Our packaging choices reflect our values. We prioritise recyclable and responsibly sourced materials for bottles, labels and outer packaging. We continually review alternatives that reduce plastic and unnecessary waste without compromising quality or safety.
As a growing business, we recognise that sustainability is a journey rather than a destination. We are committed to ongoing learning, transparency and meaningful improvements as we scale, from refining production methods to exploring greener logistics and future innovations.
By choosing Lost Dutchman Spirits, you are supporting a distillery that values craftsmanship, provenance and a considered, technology-led approach to sustainability, ensuring our spirits can be enjoyed responsibly today and for generations to come.
